The Department is staffed by a combination of career and volunteer firefighters operating out of the Phoenix Hose, Hook & Ladder Co., No 1 on Church Street. The Phoenix Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. was established in 1874 and is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with a Board of Directors made up of Firefighters and Community representatives. All fundraising and administrative functions are performed by volunteers. The Department is always looking for volunteers from our Community to help as Firefighters, Fire Police or with Administration, Fundraising and Public Relations. The Department is funded from a mixture of tax monies, grants and equipment from Local, County, State and Federal government, and donations from our Community.
