06/07/08 - Pole Fire

ENGINE 67-1 was dispatched to Gay Street and Virginia Ave at 1455 hours for a pole fire. Chief 65 (Gable) arrived on location to find the pole arcing and on fire at the base. The pole was damaged by an earlier MVC with injuries handled by the MICU. PFD members provided scene control and secured the electrical service in houses close to the pole. The pole eventually burned through and PECO arrived on location. Power was secured and fire was extinguished. PFD units cleared at 1730.
